This is a very rare,one of a kind motorcycle and an AWESOME find. This model was based on the XLX chassis. It has aluminum XR style heads with the intake ports on the right and the exhaust ports on the left. The heads are ported and polished by Jerry Branch and have inserts where the rocker boxes bolt to the heads. There is high compression 9:1 aluminum XR pistons, light aluminum pushrods, eccentric rocker shafts adjust the valve lash. It has iron cylinders w/ through-bolts, vacuum-advance V-fire 111 electronic brakeless ignition, Twin 36 MM Dell'orto dual carburetors w/ pump. It has satin textured engine cases, left side megaphone dual mufflers, 9 spoke cast aluminum wheels, oil felt air filters and triple disc brakes. This 1984 XR1000 was purchased new here in the USA by the famous Porsche race car driver, Walter Glockler. He had it shipped to Germany where he used it very sparingly. The only thing he didn't like was the factory silver paint. He sent the metal to his Dad's factory Porsche dealership where they painted both fenders and the gas tank "Harley Davidson Orange". That is the only thing that is not stock on this ALL ORIGINAL 1984 XR1000.

This bike is in excellent condition in every way. It starts, stops, runs, and idles just like brand new. Everything works - headlights , turn signals, gauges, tail and brake lights.
