1932 RLD high compression 45c.i. sport solo. FIRST year of the "R" series 45's. This is one of only 98 made that year, with a total of only 1,133 made between '32 & '36. I have been restoring this bike for almost 2 years. This is a very rare bike, and I used as many origonal parts as possible. To include: Full engine rebiuld (engine #'s are matching), fenders, tanks, dash, rims, spokes, front end, tool box, battery box, transmission, handlebars, chain guard, #2 taillight, clutch, inner & outer primary covers, etc...

Reproduction part: John Brown 7" flat lens headlight, coil, handlebar switches, taillight lens, misc. mounting hardware (used origonal whenever possible).

This bike has several 1933 upgrades: Ride control, front crash bars, Linkert M41 carb. This bike had all these '33 first year options on it when I got the bike, as well as a buddy seat(also a '33 first year option), so I put them back on as I restored. It is my belief this bike was initially sold in '33 with these options, as they had clearly been on the bike a LONG time when I got it.

Finally, this bike is pictured with '34 and up thin solo seat. I had this seat kicking around, and is not correct for this year bike. Upon final sale, I will put correct reproduction Messinger half pan seat on, or will credit for the seat.

This is a rare & beautiful bike, which starts and runs great. A real piece of history, as it was manufactured during the peak of the great depression and production #'s were very low. There have been no factory manuals, pictures etc... of these bikes until the present. A book is now out,"A RESTORATION GUIDE FOR 1929-1936 45" TWINS", by Johnny Sells. Written exclusively on The "D's", and "R's", as they have really been lost in time.
