2004 was the dividing line between the traditional Sportsters which all descended from their 1957 ancestors and the modern Sportsters which underwent a complete redesign. Although the looks are quite similar, the 2004 Sportsters and newer sport a rubber mounted engine, a much stronger frame, vastly improved brakes, better electrics, a fork lock (hooray!)and a more modern and more powerful engine. The 2004 XL1200R pictured here rides beautifully and is well optioned. It has a quick release windshield; a great sounding set of Screamin' Eagle® II mufflers, highway pegs, a padded passenger back rest, relocated rear turn signals, a laydown liscense plate and steel braided front brake lines to complement the dual front disc brakes. A great riding Sporty for not much money, this could be your bike!
